Turnip Tony Awards

The Turnip Tony Awards are a lighthearted celebration of the worst stagings in Calgary. With two coveted awards (additional categories may be added) - Best Worst Amateur Play & Best Worst Professional play.

The awards honor productions that broke new ground, by falling right through it...

The Tony Turnips recognize the immense courage required to go where no one should have gone in the first place.

The awards celebrate the tenaciousness of productions that miss every mark yet leave a memorable impression. ​​ ​​​​​​

Winners will be announced in November, 2025.

Plaques or Awards will be made for production houses looking to memorialize these stellar achievements. After all, nothing quite says 'we tried' like a golden and rotund turnip on your mantle.
